On Girls' Day, girls learn about professions or study subjects in which the proportion of women is below 40 percent, e.g. in the fields of IT, skilled trades, natural sciences and technology. Or they can meet female role models in leading positions in business or politics.
This year, three girls are immersing themselves in technology at JBW. They are getting to know electrical drive technology from all angles in our company: They move on from assembly and dispatch to technical customer advice, learn about sales as well as order and order processing.
As we also offer training for wholesale and foreign trade management clerks and have noticed time and again how few girls apply, we want to raise awareness of the opportunities in technology at an early age.
Girls'Day has been taking place since 2001 and is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
